Registered Veterinary Nurse

We are seeking an enthusiastic RVN to work at our busy three branch practice. The practice has a large client base, with a wide variety of cases seen. We promote further growth and development within the team and the company. In this role you will be working with a large team of dedicated Vets, Nurses and support staff in the delivery of excellent client & patient care.

You will be involved in nursing duties for our medical and surgical patients, provision of perioperative care, assisting with the provision of anaesthesia, as well as supporting the patient journey from admission to discharge, providing nurse consults and the provision of outstanding client care.


Up to £28,997 per annum depending on experience, plus benefits.

Average 35 hour week, as well as working a 1 in 9 Saturday and Sunday with generous time off pre and post working weekend. No night work.


Modern practices with excellent facilities

Our main Hospital has RCVS Tier 3 hospital status and is based in Newbury, which is a thriving town in West Berkshire, with many restaurants and only a 45-minute train journey to London Paddington. Situated on the edge of the North Wessex Downs AONB, it also provides beautiful local countryside for long walks with our canine friends.

We have facilities for imaging and surgery at any time of day or night. Our equipment includes Digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound with colour doppler, endoscopy, arthroscopy, Operating microscope, microsurgical equipment, slit lamp and tonovet.


Meet like-minded professionals

We have a team of 17 vets, including certificate holders in small animal surgery and ophthalmology, as well as vets with an interest in internal medicine and exotics. This makes us more than a first-opinion practice as we often perform surgeries and treat cases that may otherwise have been referred. Having been established for decades, and with two branch practices in Thatcham and Tadley, we have a huge client base which comes with lots of variety in our caseload. Our nursing team is made up of 13 RVNS and 9 SVNs in various stages of their training. We are supported by a team of 7 nursing assistants. We also have a dedicated team of 3 night nurses. We encourage our nurses to pursue special interests as much as possible, for example, we currently have nurses studying towards nutrition and small animal medicine certificates.


What we’re looking for in you?

You will be an RCVS registered RVN with confidence in all areas of veterinary nursing. You will have a desire to drive forward clinical standards and client care as well as work well in a team environment. You will already be a clinical supervisor or be willing to complete the training to become one.
